To Get Revenge

The memories grow more vivid. You see the blood dripping from your hands. Hear their laugh as they stand over you. As they stand over.. Someone who isn't here anymore.

They're going to pay. You'll make sure of that. They thought they'd throw you in here and then everything would be alright. But you're not going to take that. It can't be alright. It can't ever be alright for you anymore and it sure as hell won't be alright for them once you're through with them.

You walk up to the door. It opens. They were expecting you, but you already knew that. The elevator doors close behind you as you step into a blank, gray hall. Your mind jumps back to that moment. When they gave you a chance to run, presented you with liberty, with freedom, but what is freedom without life. And the person who used to be your life was crushed beneath their shoe. Still. And cold.

You see them smirk as you step through their door. There’s almost certainly some trap waiting for you, but you don’t care. Your fists tighten as their mouth opens and you hear that buttery smooth voice start to speak..

“Hello, dearest. You're just in time for family dinner”

“Oh honey. Are you here to try and win me back?”
